A Calmer Way to Shop: Quiet Hour at Idlewells
At Idlewells Shopping Centre, we believe that a great shopping experience should be accessible to everyone. We understand that for some members of our community, the bright lights, background music and bustle of a busy shopping centre can be overwhelming.
That’s why we are proud to announce the relaunch of our weekly Quiet Hour, taking place every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, starting on Tuesday 16th June 2026.
Our mission is to make Idlewells a welcoming, comfortable, and inclusive space where every visitor feels relaxed and supported.
What to Expect During Quiet Hour
During these two hours every Tuesday morning, we work closely with our retailers to transform the atmosphere of the centre:
- Sound Reduction: Music in the malls and participating stores will be turned off to reduce background noise.
- Tannoy Silence: Public announcements will be kept to an absolute minimum, used only in emergencies.
- A Calmer Pace: We encourage a more relaxed environment, allowing you to browse at your own speed without the usual sensory distractions.
